Intruder Alarm System

The Intelligent Intruder Alarm System: Rosslare AC-825IP + P-805

When security demands extend beyond simple access control, you need a system that offers precision, scalability, and seamless integration. The combination of the Rosslare AC-825IP Networked Access Controller and the P-805 I/O Expansion Boards creates not just a physical security system, but one of the industry’s most versatile and Intelligent Addressable Intruder Alarm System.

This platform eliminates the need for a separate, parallel intruder alarm system, unifying your access control and intrusion detection into a single, powerful command center managed by the advanced AXTRAX PRO™ software.

Unrivaled Scalability: Monitoring Up to 220 Points

The power of this solution lies in its ability to expand far beyond the controller’s immediate connections:

  • AC-825IP Base: The central controller provides the core intelligence and communication hub.
  • P-805 Expansion: The P-805 General Purpose I/O Board adds 16 Supervised Inputs and 8 Relay Outputs per unit.
  • The Network Effect: The AC-825IP can connect and manage up to 13 P-805 units (and other 800-series boards) via the high-speed OSDP bus.

Total Monitoring Points=AC-825IP Inputs+(13×P-805 Inputs)

Total Monitoring Points≈4+(13×16)=212 points (plus auxiliary I/O)

This configuration allows a single AC-825IP to monitor approximately 220 individual points or devices, offering exceptional coverage for large sites. For even greater security needs, additional AC-825IP controllers can be networked together, creating a massive, interconnected security ecosystem.

Intelligent, Addressable Monitoring: Precision & Control

The AC-825IP system treats every connected point as an Addressable Intruder Zone, delivering superior awareness over traditional systems:

1. Precision Monitoring of Critical Devices

  • Magnetic/Dry Contacts: Contacts on critical doors (e.g., server rooms, cash offices) are wired to the P-805’s inputs. Crucially, these inputs are supervised, allowing the system to not only detect an open/closed status but also tamper attempts (like cutting the wires or short-circuiting the line).
  • Duress / Panic Buttons: Dedicated inputs monitor panic buttons. A button press instantly triggers a high-priority, location-specific alarm event in the central software.
  • PIRs and Environmental Sensors: PIR motion detectors, glass break sensors, and even water/temperature sensors can be connected, integrating a full range of environmental and motion detection into the security policy.

2. Full Control: Arming, Disarming, and Zoning

The system supports granular control through the AXTRAX PRO™ software:

  • Full/Partial Arming: Define specific security zones, allowing guards or authorized users to fully arm the entire site, or partially arm specific sections (e.g., arm the warehouse while the office remains disarmed).
  • Point Management: Security staff can enable or disable individual points (e.g., temporarily bypass a specific PIR for maintenance) directly from the central station.

3. Addressable Alarm Indication (Audio & Visual)

The outputs on the P-805 boards are used to drive local alarm devices, providing instantaneous, localized alerts:

  • Central Station Alert: Any alarm event (e.g., Door Forced, Panic Button) instantly provides an addressable visual and audio alarm at the central AXTRAX PRO ™ monitoring station, telling the operator exactly which device at which address caused the trigger.
  • Local Indication: The P-805’s 8 relay outputs can be programmed to trigger local devices:
    • Siren/Strobe activation near the door that was violated.
    • Lockdown of nearby access points.
    • Activation of CCTV recording at max framerate.

4. Audit Trail and MIS

All access and intrusion events are meticulously logged by the AXTRAX PRO™ software, providing invaluable data:

  • History of Alarm: A complete, time-stamped log of every alarm event, including the device, user (if related to access), and the security operator’s response.
  • MIS Reporting: Generate comprehensive management information system (MIS) reports on alarm frequency, false alarm rates by zone, and response times—essential for optimizing security protocols and operational efficiency.

The Integrated Advantage

By consolidating access control and intrusion detection onto the Rosslare AC-825IP platform, organizations benefit from:

  • Cost Efficiency: Reduces the hardware and maintenance costs associated with running two separate systems.
  • Unified Management: Simplifies training and operation with a single software platform (AXTRAX PRO™) for all security functions.
  • Superior Logic: Enables complex event-to-action logic where an access event (e.g., valid card-swipe) automatically disarms a relevant zone, and an alarm event can trigger an emergency door lock-down.

The Rosslare AC-825IP and P-805 combination offers an intelligent, scalable, and highly reliable foundation for the next generation of physical security.
